Biodegradable coatings

What is the best biodegradable and affordable coating for mycelium-materials which is waterproof? For example beeswax, soy wax, carnuba wax… Does someone has already done some experiments with them?

I’d be very interested as well! Did anyone try out any agar / alginate / xanthan gum stuff?

Bake mushrooms in the oven.
I put on Agar, and as time went by,
The Agar falls.
