Hi All-

I’m working with Ecovative’s G.I.Y. MycoComposite material and was wondering if anyone else has experience with this material and can offer any insight into whether / how I could chop up the substrate into smaller particles without damaging the mycelium?

My hope is to create a paste that can be extruded into a mold with some finer details.

Blending / liquidfying substrate kills mycelium?

Your best bet would probably be to use a blender. You’re going to damage the mycelium no matter what. As long as you maintain clean and good growing conditions the mycelium will recover and bounce back.
