Mushroom Meat Atlast Ecovative Patented

Hi People

Ecovative just announced they founded a new company “Atlast” to produce mushroom meat. Does anyone knows if they patented their growing method as they did with all the packaging materials…?

Lovely greetings,

Malte

Assuming they’d use the same company name to ascribe the patents to, they don’t seem to have new patents related to food uses. Assuming Google Patents is up-to-date and they don’t have them in the pipeline still.

(Man, some of these patents seem to describe very basic things)

Sounds tasty! “steak, chicken and crispy bacon” mmmm… the vegos will love it!

I tried it out when I was visiting them. It was pretty okay.

It’s very likely they patented it. This is a very competitive sphere (if not aggressive)… Though the question is: what can you patent about it? As far as I know the process mainly involves using a mycelium network as a scaffolding. There have to be lo-tech ways of replicating that without infringing on a patent. At least I hope!

Do you also want to grow some meat @MalteLarsen ?
